They apply alongside any written estimate we give you, and the estimate takes precedence where the two differ on the scope or price of a specific job. ## Estimates and pricing We provide the scope and the price in writing before work begins. An estimate is based on the information available to us at the time, including anything you have told us about the property and the work required. Where work is opened up and conditions are found that could not reasonably have been identified beforehand, for example concealed cabling in poor condition, or existing installation defects; we will stop, explain the position and agree any change in scope or price with you before continuing. ## Accepting the work Work is treated as accepted once you confirm the estimate in writing or by message, or once you ask us to proceed. Dates are agreed with you in advance and we will let you know if anything affects the arranged time. ## Access and site conditions You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the areas we need to work in, along with access to the electrical supply and consumer unit. Please tell us in advance about anything relevant, such as vulnerable occupants, pets, restricted parking, asbestos surveys or other trades working on site. Where practical, we ask that fragile items and furniture are moved clear of the work area before we arrive. We cover floors and clear up after ourselves, but we cannot accept responsibility for items left in the working area. ## Our standards and certification Manchester Electrical Services Ltd is a NICEIC Domestic Installer. Work is carried out and tested to current wiring regulations, and notifiable work is registered and certified. You will be issued with the paperwork appropriate to the work carried out. We carry £5 million public liability insurance, which is in place on every job. ## Workmanship guarantee 12-month workmanship guarantee when materials are supplied by us and no other contractor has worked on the installation beforehand. The guarantee covers our workmanship. It does not cover materials or equipment supplied by others, damage caused by misuse, alterations or repairs carried out by anyone else, faults in existing installations we were not engaged to replace, or normal wear and tear. Manufacturer warranties on materials and equipment run separately, on the manufacturer's terms. ## Variations and additional work If you ask for additional work once we are on site, we will confirm what it involves and what it will cost before carrying it out. Additional work is subject to these same terms. ## Payment Payment terms are set out on your estimate or invoice. Unless agreed otherwise in writing, invoices are payable in full on completion of the work. Where a job runs over an extended period, we may invoice in stages as agreed with you. ## Cancellations and rearranged visits Please give us as much notice as you can if you need to cancel or move a visit. Where materials have already been ordered specifically for your job, or work has already begun, we may charge for what has been supplied or carried out up to that point. Where you engage us as a consumer away from our premises, your statutory cancellation rights apply. If you ask us to begin work within the cancellation period and we complete it, the work becomes payable. ## Availability and response times Our working hours are Monday to Friday 7:30 – 19:30 and Saturday 8:00 – 17:00. Sundays are call-outs only and subject to availability. We aim to respond to enquiries within 1–2 hours during working hours. That is a typical response time based on our normal workload, not a guaranteed one. ## Liability We are responsible for loss or damage caused by our failure to carry out the work with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for pre-existing defects in an installation we were not engaged to work on, for losses arising from your failure to act on remedial recommendations we have given you in writing, or for work altered by others after we have left. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. ## Complaints If anything is not right, contact us on 07469 921171 or at info@mcrelectricalservices.co.uk and we will look into it and put it right where the fault is ours. Raising it with us directly is always the quickest route to a resolution. ## Governing law These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. ## Need something clarified?
